Install WebEQ for Maple
To avoid delays while the Math Viewer applet downloads, install WebEQ
for Maple. You will cache a copy of the MathML Viewer Java class files
in your browser so any Web pages that use WebEQ for Maple will appear more
quickly. The free archive installer download is around 500K. The MathML
Viewer installation files are digitally signed to ensure that you are caching
authentic, safe, and thoroughly tested software.

Internet Explorer 5 or higher
If you are running Internet Explorer 6.x you will need to install the Java
Plug In if you have not already done so. To install the Java Plug In now, click
here.

Windows users click here to install
the MathML Viewer on your local machine. To successfully install the JAR
archive, you need to have both Java and JavaScript enabled.

Macintosh users must install manually. On MMLViewerApplet.jar,
use "Save Link As" to save the WebEQ for Maple JAR archive to your local
disk. A good place to put the file is the Plugins folder in your Internet
Explorer folder. Then, in Internet Explorer, select Edit, select
Preferences,
and then select Java. Add the MMLViewerApplet.jar file to your classpath.
In all cases, restart your browser.
Netscape 4.x
We recommend Netscape 4.7.7 (or newer) as earlier versions of Netscape
have some display problems with the applet.

Windows users click here to install
the MathML Viewer on your local machine. To successfully install the JAR

Macintosh users and users with machines behind proxy servers
or firewalls may need to install manually. First, Download and install
the MRJ plugin http://www.mozilla.org/oji/MRJPlugin.html,
Then Select Save Link As on MMLViewerApplet.jar
to save the WebEQ for Maple JAR archive to your local disk. Then move that
file to the "Netscape Communicator : Plugins" folder.

Unix users should move the file to the ".../Program/Java/Download"
directory of your Netscape installation or your .netscape directory.
In all cases, restart your browser.
Netscape 6.x
- Sun Java Runtime Environment 1.3.1 (JRE) is required in order to run WebEQ
from Netscape 6.x. If you already have JRE 1.3.1 installed continue with step
2. To download and install now, click here.
- Download WebEQApplet.jar by right-clicking here
and choosing "Save Link As…". The Save File dialog will open. In the "Save
in:" pull-down menu, select your Desktop.
- Click the "Save" button
- After the WebEQApplet.jar file has finished downloading to your Desktop,
quit your browser.
- Because it is possible to have multiple copies of the Sun Java Runtime Environment
installed simultaneously, you will need to place a copy of WebEQApplet.jar
into each of the following locations on your computer if they exist:.
- C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1\lib\applet
- C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1_01\lib\applet
- C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1_01a\lib\applet
- C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1_02\lib\applet
- Launch Windows Explorer via Start>Programs>Accessories>Windows Explorer
or by choosing Start>Run and typing in explorer and clicking "OK". Windows
Explorer will open. Navigate to each of the above possible locations if they
exist and place a copy of WebEQApplet.jar into each that exists on your computer.

by visiting this Test Page.
